Hey blackfolks,

I have a work related situation that I need to vent about and receive some blackfolk input on.

I have started a different job in early childhood development.  I work at a site that provides services to low income children.  The center population is part black, white and latino.

The administrative staff only has one black person on it.  She is a real piece of work in her own right.  But the social worker(?) she is a flat out racist.  We have already had two major confrontations regarding her nasty nice attitudes towards children of color and the other black women on the staff..

I had a little girl in my class who had a major speech problem.  This baby girl is smart and very likeable.  When I asked what was being done to secure the necessary help that this child needed, I was basically told that the social worker would handle it.

She had done nothing in this child's behalf.  So I took it upon myself to hook mom up with the necessary connections to speech therapy.  No one knew that I had done so until the mom came back and went off about the lack of response on the admin staff's part.
